Steps to create a Facebook Page

STEP ONE

My recommendation would be to open the account of your company from your personal profile of Facebook, and not open a separate account for your business.

The reason why is because in practice it’s less cumbersome, since you can access from your personal account without having to close the session and reopen it on the new page.

There is no danger that anyone on your business page will enter your personal page, so stay calm if that is why you could contemplate the idea of opening a separate Facebook account to create your Fan Page.

To start creating a Facebook page you should go to “Create A Page” or click on “Create Page” on the left side of your Facebook profile:

STEP TWO

You must choose the type of page according to your business, company or brand. Each of these types of page has defined characteristics that highlight or emphasize some options over others, to help you find the information that may interest you or be of more relevance to you.

If your business has a physical location, it is advisable to choose the option “Local or Business Place”, as this will allow you to show the valuations that your customers leave (very convenient if your customers usually leave positive comments), besides you can clearly see your address and the map of where your company is.

Do not worry too much about this, since anyway, if once you create the page you decide to change the type of page, you can do it without any problem.

STEP THREE

Once you have chosen the category that best suits your industry, you must complete the most information, not forgetting to include your web link, business address, schedules, descriptions and other details that your audience or your customers may need.

Choose a good profile image (the image is displayed at 170 x 170 pixels on computers) and is representative of your brand, for example your logo or a photo of you.

In the description, you should try to express who you are or what your business or brand is, and what you bring to those who are visiting your page.

I suggest that in your texts you define your personal style and how you want to be perceived, to show your personality and to differentiate yourself from the competition.

STEP FOUR

Once you have completed all the basic information, you can customize your page by adding a good quality cover photo that is at least 851 x 315 pixels.

Choose a cover or cover photo that is striking and represents your brand. And you ask yourself, and how can I design an image for the cover of my Facebook page? Very easy: you have a web page where you can create your cover online easily and with a high level result: PicMonkey

Remember in every image you use on Facebook and social networks in general, you should not infringe the copyright of the materials you publish.

Graphic design templates sized just for social. Take PicMonkey's ad-vice.

STEP FIVE

Create 3 or 4 publications to start and open your page with some content and for your fans to see your style and what kind of messages will find on your Facebook page.

Choose what type of post you want to post: a photo, text, an event, an offer, etc. My advice is that in every publication you make there is some image or video; images will make your content much more successful!

Here are some examples or ideas for your first posts:

1) “Welcome to my new Facebook page! I will share … .. with all of you and I hope to see you here”,

2) Share photos of your products or services and consult your fans who you think or what your opinion

3) “Here I am reading a good book on this rainy day. And what do you like to do when the weather is horrible and should you stay home?”

I recommend using other apps to manage your content and audience. My favourite is Crowdfire.

The good think about Crowdfire is that you can insert your page, and it will create posts of your blog to be shared on Facebook (and in other social networks).

STEP SIX

Invite your page to all the friends and family that you can, that although they are your nearest circle and in principle we are many, is a starting point and all its followers in turn will be able to see its interactions with your page, creating an effect Expansive to start increasing your fans.
