I record weekly podcast about the best techniques to grow your business or your blog and making money using social media and digital marketing. So today we are going to talk about how you can use social media to grow your business or your brand. So you may have heard about this many many times and you may have wanted to know how exactly social media can help you grow your business, or how can you get benefits from exposing your business on social media. Having your business on social media is very beneficial for you but the first thing the first step is being in the right channels.
Right now I’m going to talk about few other benefits but not about how to choose the right channels. If you want to know about this, you can go ahead and listen Episode 1 where I explain how to choose the right social channels for you or your brand.
So in this episode we are going to discover the benefits of social media exposure for your business, for your blog, for you, for your brand…. But just to make it easier, we are going to talk about product but your can extrapolate the concept to your situation, that is if you’re a blogger you are trying to get more readers to your blog, if you are a layer, you are trying to gain clients, etc.
In any case, we are going to make thing easy and we are going to talk about “product” and business. So let’s start with all the benefits that social media has to offer to your business. #1 Spread your message:
In episode 1 I also talk about what is the message, but simplifying your message is what you are selling: your product or your service, if you are a bloger your article or your affiliate link etc. Also some other messages that are not yours but are good for you, like trends, industry news, press articles, and so on that are positive to your product. You can also spread tutorials, recipes, best practices, tricks or hacks related to or that involve your product.
If you are not on social media, you can only share your message locally on your physical store, or spend lots of money in advertising. On the contrary if your business is in social media you have a powerful tool to send your message out to the world, your message will be on the internet where anyone could eventually see it. #2 Increase Brand Visibility
Lots of people will know your brand, far more people than if you keep it locally. Even locally, people would more likely see your message on the internet.
This is a great point for local businesses because social media tends to feature content locally to users on the same local position, which is great because it will be more accurate for you to be found by local potential customers. In the same way, when we say increasing your brand visibility we are talking about being present: today, if you are not on social media you’re done! I mean you need to be there because in this in this moment in history is where you also need to be! if you are only in your local store you are limiting yourself to tiny exposure compared to putting your name on the internet. #3 Handle Crisis. also being on social media will help you deal with critical situations that may arise if you’re not there you won’t be able to handle or manage critical situations crisis or whatever my happens and you can minimize the negative impact if you take par.
Otherwise if you are not there you won’t be able to manage and reduce the negative situation on the internet and you know this man grows and grows and grows against your brand so it’s good to be there. that leads to ne next beneficial point which is building or improving reputation. #4 Improving your reputation Building or improving reputation is good to build your customers confidences, basic point when it comes to close a deal a sale or any kind of conversion. In other words, confidence generate sales. #5 Get to know your customers Social media you have access to lots and lots of informations of your customers or potential customers, (listen to this) for free!!!
Also, tanks to social media you can segment your customers, in other words you can find them and you can talk to them! In other word, you can access and address your target audiences from social medial.
Getting to know your customers and potential customers much better also means that with lots of information available you can learn a lot about them and this way you can also make the right approach. Also you can show your product in a way that connects with your audience. For example, if you are in the makeup industry you will know in what are the new trends, what other things they like, and who are their influencers. #6 Gain new clients. This is the big one! Is it not our ultimate desire? The reason why why we do all the work in our business. But client acquisition is something more than just a few likes on your photos.
There are millions of people in the social media world, a percentage of that huge amount of people are our potential customers, which still is a enormous number of people.
Thanks to social media channels you have the golden opportunity to present yourself and your product to all those potential customer and turn them into followers, fans and finally customers.
If you want to to learn 2 fantastic techniques to get or increase your conversions, go ahead and listen to episode 3. #7 Building Loyalty Yes, you can build loyalty to your brand if you use social media to listen. Social media is a public space and you can get a lot of information there. You can get information about what your customers think about your products or your industry or if they will recommend your product, or what they like the most about products similar to yours, etc.
You can use that information to approach to your customers, giving them what they want.
That’s why you need to listen to your customers! You can learn a lot about what people like or what they hate, and this way you can give them what they want developing the right message, the right product, or the right service. People love when brands listen to them! And finally the last benefit of my list and my favourite: #8 Having a customer service channel for free As I said before when we are listening to our customers we are going to find out that eventually they will complain or they will have bad experiences or issues with your product or with competitors products. So this is an amazing opportunity for you to jump into the conversation to solve the problem or compensate for the problem. In the same way, if you need to implement a customer care service but you don’t have the money to do it, just set up a Twitter account and that will be your customer service Channel; absolutely free working 24 hours a day instant communication! This also builds loyalty, this absolutely builds loyalty and at the same time you are growing your visibility and you will have good references whenever you solve the problem because an upset customer is an opportunity for you to build your reputation, d’you know why? because when customer service is done the right way it has a positive impact on your business and studies reveal that customers are willing to spend more and recommend to others! In future episodes I will talk about how your business can to deliver exceptional customer service. So in summary, lead generation and getting more sales, are the main reasons why your business wants to be on Social media.  Basically you go where your customers are, you have to find them, you have to talk to them you have to show your product, you have to convince them to buy your product.
At the same time your audience will have the chance to know you, they will learn about you, read your reviews, they will see what you do and they will finally buy from you.
If you are not on the social networks, you won’t be found, and you will be missing a great opportunity. So at least, the less you can do is be there, be present, show up and you will see how beneficial it is for you to build your own community or to have social presence for you brand. Bottom line: Social media is one of the most powerful lead generation tools available today. So do you know any other reason why it is great for your business to have an active social media presence?
